Title: Recommend UK External Tuner for Laptop Running Windows 8.1
Post by: trevoraiston on August 10, 2015, 05:33:30 pm
A friend seeing my JRiver HTPC asked if he could set up something similar for his 6 month old laptop running windows 8.1.

Ive used Hauppauge in the past but wasn't impressed with their connections.

Anyone in UK using JRiver with TV on laptop?

If so what tuner?

Trevor

I'm not in UK, but I do run TV tuner card on my laptop. I use the Hauppauge HVR-950Q and it works very well. Hauppauge makes several USB stick type tuners for use in the UK too  http://www.hauppauge.co.uk/site/products/prods_external.html

Acknowledging that a laptop is a mobile device, a network tuner that you could pick up a Wi-Fi feed from could be a front runner.

Anyone had experience of picking a network feed from one of the standards?
