Hi,
I've successfully had jrmc running for a while with changes over time but recently I swapped out my Wadia 121 for a W4S DAC DSD and i have a few issues I am struggling to resolve.
1/ being that on both my server (jrmc20) and my laptop (jrmc 19), I can't get DSD over DoP running at all. The W4S MC setup guide is out dated and no help bar the obvious. I've had DSD running in the past via a Schiit Loki. No issues.
2/ being that on the server with jrmc 20 via the W4S ASIO driver, hirez files wav @ 24/96 glitch badly. Seemingly out of sync as such. 16/44.1-48 have no issues. If I change to wasapi, no issues.
I haven't noticed the same issue with the laptop on MC 19. Although I only connected the lappy once for a quick check/test.
I've changed cables out, memtest/cpu stress tested/tested the hdd just in case of hardware issues on the server. The issue happens whether output through the motherboard USB or the SOtM TX USB output.
Any help would be appreciated in regards to the appropriate settings etc. and all other possible solutions.
I have contacted W4S with no real advice given to resolve this.

Pretty much a standard install with little change.
24/96 wav files glitch during playback and no setting I use result in distortion free DSD upsampiling from pcm
Any help would be appreciated

Upsampling to DSD on-the-fly would require a powerful machine, and there is no advantage to doing so.
Please run a benchmark (under help) in MC and paste the result here.
Try increasing the buffer size.

I realize there "may" be no advantage but both MC and the W4S should supposedly do this easily and I'd like to at least try for myself :)
In regards to the buffering, is this your suggestion for the hirez issues? And if so, what should I adjust it to?
Here is a screenshot from my server. It is a intel 4670T/AsusQ87T/4GBmem/msata SSDSOtM txusb/HDPLEX passive case/HDplex LPSU combo.
There were no issues with pcm playback via the now sold Wadia 121.

I've tried all the different buffering options with no change to the hirez issues. If I change over to wasapi, issues solved but no way of trying PCM->DSD
Oh, it hasn't been mentioned but the OS is win7/64 PRO updated as far as SP1

Your JRMark is good, not great. It's probably why you can't do DSD on-the-fly.

Strangley enough though Jim, I had my prior server running a Ivy Bridge Celeron Dual core with no issues doing the same. I assumed a significantly more powerful Haswel i5 quad would be easily up to the task.
What is your take on the Hi-rez though? Conflict between hardware? Or the W4S ASIO driver?

I've been working away at this for the last week. The CPU is definitely powerful enough to upsample both pcm and dsd.
I've been running the resource meter whilst testing and the CPU's barely hit the 30% mark (not all 4 cores either) with memory hardly taking a hit either.
I've also setup HQPlayer to check to see if it is a hardware issue.
HQPlayer does everything without a hitch using the W4S driver via both wasapi and asio. It however requires a mouse and monitor which is not happening in the lounge.
Back to MC and still no go. No DSD bar it playing distorted and glitched. Even upsampling into higher PCM rates causes the DAC to sometimes glitch out leaving faulty playback with the DAC2 lcd flashing. I can only use wasapi within MC.
I'm now wondering if the issue is an compatibility issue between MC and the W4S driver package?
