I had just ripped a new CD to MC9.1 when Iwent into the tags to modify the track names (Since it was not in YABB). After doing this I noticed that instead of the normal two blue note symbols in from of the file name, there was now a small white page with a red X in the lower right corner. I thought that maybe I needed to update the tag info with the library, so I did an "Update Tag from Library" I am not 100% I might have instead have done an "Update Library from Tag".
Well whatever I did, it messed up my entire naming. Most of the names now say "too many items to list".
After playing around with the library, I was able to fix a small percentage of files by using the "Fill Properties From Filename", but have noticed this will not work on a majority of my files because their filename has the track number at the begining such as "...01-Song Name.ape"
Is there an easy way to fix this problem and what does that little white page with red X mean that got me into this mess in the first place.

Upone further investigation, if a file has a "-" in between the track number and the song name (01- Song Name), the "Fill Properties From Filename" works, but if there is not a "-" such as (01 Song Name) the "Fill Properties From Filename" does not work.

Another observation is that if I modify the file name to add a "-" in between the track number and the song name, it allows me to use the "Fill Properties From Filename" to correct the "Name" column, but then I end up with the old "white sheet with red X" icon that got me started down this road.

you can edit and change the Rules to your liking
Also " - " Is Not The Same As "-"

Please give me more info on how to do this. My lack of knowledge is what got me into this in the first place.
I am not sure what you mean by the "-" comment. Is it something I should be concerned with or is it just an MC insider wise ass remark.

note the spaces before and after the "-"
if you get the info from the file name and it is like this
01-SongName.mp3
it is not the same as
01 - SongName.mp3
So Rule
[Track #] - [Name]
is not the same as
[Track #]-[Name]
you can change the "-" devider to almost anything to read from the file name if the file name uses something other than the standard "-" devider

So how do I use the Rule that you mentioned. When I look into the Help file for Rule it only mentioned the use of it to do a search. I assume you are talking about doing a mass edit to say change from:
[Track #] [Name]
change it to
[Track #]-[Name]
How do I do a mass edit like this?

Never mind the needing info on how to use the Rule. I figured it out myself.
I still would like to know what the icon with the little red X means and what to do to correct it (If I even need to worry about it).

the red "X" may be that the File Is Off Line Or Missing.
it may be misssing because you renamed it outside of MC9 or It May Have Been Deleted. If it is on a removable drive and the drive is offline this is normal.
If You Use The Update Library Option And
[_] Remove Files That Do not Exist Option
Then Re-Import from Your Music Folder.
This Should Make Sure Iverything Is There.
