Title: Does this work on ALL Linux OS?
Post by: charmerci on June 03, 2016, 08:06:58 pm
I just bought a master license. I tried to save and open MC but all I get is a window that has this -

JRiver, Inc. Media Center 22 Master
--begin-product-info--
Vendor:JRiver, Inc.
Product:Media Center
Version:22 Master
--end-product-info--
--begin-license--
nctpGqlbCEuwH8x0...and it goes on.

I have PCLinux2013.

You're trying to open the license file, not the JRiver package/binary.  Have a look at the installation instructions stickied at the top of the forum and find the one that's closest to your distro (I'm guessing fedora, as your distro uses rpm as a package manager).

Plus that's all that was downloaded onto my computer.

Since you are running linux I'm guessing you know how to install software in linux.

Do you have a debian  or rpm based distro ?   Or something else ?

On Arch linux someone has made a user package (aur)  so i can do

--> yaourt -S jriver-media-center

to get it installed on my box.  Then I apply the license to unlock it from demo mode.

For deb or rpm based distributions go to the top of the forum, pick the right topic and follow the instructions to
install the software. Just like any other linux software package for your distro.
