Title: MC21 Equalizer questions
Post by: Rizlaw on June 26, 2016, 03:37:55 pm
Working with my MMGs, I find they need serious equalization to sound correct in the position they are in.

When I set the equalizer bands and save the results I find that the settings are always changed by plus or minus 0.1 or 0.2 db by MC21. For example if I set the 1k band to +2db, after the save it shows +1.9db. If I set the 170hz band to -4db, after a save it becomes -3.9. Why?

Also, when I save my settings to a file called "MMG" why does it not show "MMG" in the Preset box when *I load this configuration? It will only show "Custom" or one of the predefined settings, but not my saved settings. Seems like a bug to me.

Do you run Windows or Mac MC and if so do you see the same behavior?

Hi Bob,

Neither Windows nor Mac, strictly Linux, Ubuntu 16.04LTS.

On the Mac version (21.0.83) I see this same changing of EQ parameters by about 0.1 dB.  If I set a band to +2.0, after I come back to it, it will be set to 1.9dB.

I've used the Parametric EQ quite a bit and never seen a change in any of those.  I don't really use the EQ section at all, so I had never noticed this.
