Title: Raspberry -> Gapless playing via DLNA
Post by: Werner on July 04, 2016, 01:36:30 pm
JRiver works at my Raspberry as a DLNA server. No problem till today. Today I tried for the first time to listen to an opera. The problem is now: I can’t figure out if it is possible and how to let the tracks play gapless. Now I have  at every new track a short gap. I read in the Wiki, I can change this in Options/Audio, but there I find just the message that I shall configure this in Media Network/DLNA server. And there is nothing like this. I hope this doesn’t mean, that gapless playback via DLNA is impossible? Is there any possibility to put this option?

The server settings are under Media Network > Advanced.  But maybe you're playing to the RPi as a DLNA Renderer.  In that case, right click on the device you're playing to under Playing Now.

Where are the server settings? (Screenshot attached)

I don’t know what it means to play »to the RPi as a DLNA Renderer«. But when I rightclick on the device I get the menu in the 2nd screenshot. There are no server settings.

On the options page, there is a search window at the bottom.  Try searching for gapless.  You should be able to set it for the DLNA zone you're playing to.

Thank you. It works. But where do I find these options the next time?
