Title: Can't import Video (VOB) files
Post by: djp on August 03, 2017, 08:44:12 pm
I've got an installation of MC22 for Linux on Debian 9, running in a VM (running under byvhe on a FreeNAS machine, though I've seen the same symptoms on a Centos 7 KVM server). Audio imports just fine, including all the MP3 tags. But it ignores all VOB files. It's not all video files--m2ts, avi, mp2, mp4, m4v, and ts files are all recognized, Also, ifo files are imported as documents, not video files.

For what it's worth, I only intend to use this installation as a Media/Library Server (since all the media files are stored on the FreeNAS server), so it doesn't need to render/display video. What am I missing?

Unfortunately you're not going to be able to use your linux box to serve DVD files across OS's, for 2 reasons -

a. MC (as you've discovered) doesn't recognise ifo or vob files; and
b. Because the file paths are different across OS's and (as of right now) MC doesn't translate these.
