Title: Radio 3 Lossless stream
Post by: The CasaMan on August 15, 2017, 02:14:53 am
Some may know that the BBC is currently trialing lossless Radio 3 using a FLAC stream.
They have made it available by working with Mozilla who have incorporated the codec into FireFox.
It is also possible to stream it using MinimStreamer through their MinimServer which I have done.
What is the possibility of incorporating the codec into JRiver MedeaCentre?  It is, after all, likely that the BBC will make the facility permanent.

Some technical details in http://www.bbc.co.uk/rd/blog/2017-04-radio-3-high-quality-flac-dash

Apparently they contributed an enhancement to gstreamer which may give further details on what specifically is involved.
