Title: Use Remote Disc to rip?
Post by: USAudio on July 05, 2018, 02:13:00 pm
Is it possible with JRiver MC 22 for Mac to use a Remote Disc to rip CDs?

I have a Remote Disc (on a Windows Machine) configured for my Mac, and see the drive in Finder.

However when I select "Rip Disc" in MC, it says:
"Ripping is currently unavailable.  Please ensure that a suitable optical drive is installed on this machine."

How do I point MC to a Remote Disc on my Mac?  Or must the optical drive be installed on the local machine?

Ripping was added a year or so ago.  You might try MC24.

Ah, given the available "Rip Disc" option and the error message returned, I assumed it was because I didn't have an optical drive installed in my Mac ... but it sounds like Ripping wasn't even available in MC 22 for the Mac?
