Title: Thread Priority Change in MC 24.0.74
Post by: gtp600 on January 18, 2019, 11:02:14 am
Based on the Linux setup tutorial, thread priority was working properly on MC 24.0.42.
Just upgraded to MC 24.0.74 and tested thread priority again.
Now I'm seeing something different. See attached image.
Do I need to rerun the thread priority setup?

No, that is exactly what you should expect to see now.
There is only one RR thread and it's attached to the ouput processing.
There are a number of TS threads that are fined tuned using NICE priorities.

This is much friendlier and more efficient than the previous approach.

Plus MC automatically sets up thread priorities now (via a /etc/security/limits.d/ entry) so it doesn't need to be setup manually anymore, correct? If so, I'll remember to remove that from the MC25 for Debian/Ubuntu/Linux Mint tutorial.

Yes, for the audio group.
