Imagine a limitless giga-library of lossless audio files that you can play anywhere. That's where JRiver Cloudplay is going.

Upload your own files as playlists
They are uploaded to our server at Amazon S3 whose reliability is excellent.

Play these playlists anywhere
Play Doctor can also combine these files with your local files. Other users can do the same.

Enable "Upload to Cloud" in Tools > Options > General > Features

Cloudplay will be found in the tree on the left, just below Audio, Video, and Images.

Click on Cloudplay, then choose "Playlists"

Register an account, preferably using the same name you use on the forum.

You can upload playlists from MC > Playlists -- right click on any lossless playlist and choose "Upload to Cloud".

Only lossless playlists, mixes not whole CD's or single artists, 50 or so files per playlist, minimum 5 files.

Please use a descriptive name, or at least a primary artist.

Click on the setting icon in the upper right corner of the Cloudplay screen and check "Only show users that have uploaded content."

In MC's Options for Cloudplay, you can set the files you want to include or exclude.

On average, each user has uploaded about 200 files in 4 playlists.

Now there's a fifth button: Try Me

This button plays a playlist of about two and a half hours of tracks exclusively from Cloudplay. They're all lossless.

It currently filters out Christmas music, spoken audio, etc. We expect to add more filters.

It's a pretty nice way to be introduced to new music.

Post by: JimH on July 10, 2019, 08:56:27 am: In 25.0.74, we've added an Options page for Cloudplay. You can set rules for files you want included or excluded. Here's an example of how I have mine set:

-[Genre]="metal" -[Genre]="punk" -[Genre]="christian" -[Genre]="christmas"

Those genres are excluded when I play from Cloudplay or Radio JRiver.

Tools > Options > Cloudplay.
