Title: NEW: Play Doctor Meets Cloudplay
Post by: JimH on May 29, 2019, 05:57:21 pm
In build 45, JohnT added the ability to use the entire Cloudplay (https://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Cloudplay) library to supplement your own.  The Cloudplay library currently has 55,000 lossless tracks.

Start playback with Play Doctor and MC will find new content on our servers.

You need to turn it on by stopping playback, going to Playing Now and setting the option.

4. NEW: Cloudplay integration with Play Doctor. Use the options dropdown 'Include files from Cloudplay' to add to your Play Doctor playlist.  You can also set the percentage of files that come from the Cloudplay server.

Use the options link to the right of Play Doctor here:

Two new improvements in 25.0.48 (available later this week):

1.  In the Options just described above, you can now set what percentage of the tracks come from Cloudplay and from your local machine.  I set mine to 90% just to see what it would do.  So far, it's great.

2.  Once you have it set up, you can more easily start Play Doctor from the Cloud by right clicking on any audio file, then choosing, Other Play Options > Play Doctor from the Cloud.

These changes really give you a customizable radio station.

Sounds cool, I'll be checking it out soon.

Is this something that could make it's way to JRiver for Android?

I don't see this option on Play Doctor. I'm on Build 25.0.54.

No joy on Build 25.0.71. I'm running the 64 bit version so maybe that's the issue.

The playdoctor options are there in build 71 (64 bit). Have you signed in to cloudplay?

Still no joy. I'm signed into Cloudplay, start playback, stop playback. Select PlayDoctor options, no Cloudplay options in drop down list. Using IE as browser engine as well.

What OS?  Linux and Mac are behind the Windows version.

I see:

Some Variety
More Variety
Lots of Variety
Set Ruse for Files that can be Included...
Include Files from Cloudplay
Reset Settings to Defaults

What do you see?

Are you signed into Cloudplay?  Can you play files from it?

Yes, signed into Cloudplay and it works great. For giggles I checked all the skins and they are all the same.

You need to have Media Center licensed for the other choices to appear.

I wonder if you have something disabled in Tools > Options > General > Features.

Having mixed results with CloudPlay through PlayDoctor.  I can search an artist by Artist, Album Artist etc and will get a list of results. A single result will match my search but is from my own Library. The additional results are other artists. Have repeated this many times with different artists and options but always the same result.

I have selected 100% Cloudplay and tried all the variety options.
Rules for files that can be included: Default
I confirm beforehand that there are lots of the tracks I am searching for in Cloudplay
Build 25.0.83. 64 Bit on Windows 10

How to search for an artist in Cloudplay?
You can use the search to find playlists that contain the artist, but you can only play playlists.

But this is coming soon:

I'm no longer getting Cloud Play results in my Play Doctor lists. I've tried setting it as high as 50% Cloudplay, but no joy.

MC Windows 25.0.92

Me too.  Current MC version is 25.0.95.  I've tried setting it with up to 100% from Cloud Play, but still get 100% from my local library.  No problem accessing Cloud Play directly from "Streaming"

I still get no Cloudplay results when choosing Play (with Play Doctor & Cloudplay). MC Windows 25.0.113. Regular Cloudplay works fine.

Is this feature working for anyone else?

It's working correctly for me.  Double check this setting to make sure you're not filtering out things you don't want to:
Options > Cloudplay > Set files that can be included for playback...

You could empty it completely and test that.  Then add back slowly.

Thanks.

I also haven't had any luck with Cloudplay/Play Doctor since 0.98, although standalone Cloudplay works fine.  I tried your suggestion - I completely emptied the options/cloudplay list (which had been the same settings that previously worked) but still get no Cloudplay files with Play Doctor - only files from my local library, no matter what the percentage setting is in Cloud Play options or which filters are used.

Does it depend on the seed?
Something that's not in your library?
Matt, you looked at this once before.

I used ‘Louis Armstrong’ which is most definitely in my local library. I’ve also just invoked Play Doctor by hitting enter from a cleared playing now  window, with only results from my local library in both cases.

This worked for me. After I emptied my filter, Cloudplay files started appearing.

What's odd is that I continue to see Cloudplay files, even after adding everything back. Go figure.

Thanks Matt!

One thing I've noticed

When I start playback by right-clicking a file and choosing More Play Options > Play (With PlayDoctor & Cloudplay) I only get Cloudplay tracks.

Choosing Play (with PlayDoctor) gives me the 20% mix of Cloudplay tracks I have configured.

MC 26.0.4 Windows.

Play Doctor / Cloudplay still won't work for me when invoked from MC 25 itself (Build .113), as described in my October 23 posts above.  However, when I tried invoking it from JRemote, it works as expected.

Maybe there's a clue in there somewhere?

Hi Every Body,
Cloudplay is fantastic, thanks for the feature.
I uploaded 2 playlists and I try to upload a new one and i can't. All files in the playlist have the status "In Queue" and nothing append. Number and type of files are Ok.
Do you have an idea of what append ?
Is there a limit for upload ?

Hi Folks,
I reply to myself, finally that works. I think, it's a mistake in the UPNP option on my internet routeur.
So I send more tracks on the cloud, from Europe the speed seems to be linited to 1 Mbits  :-\ ... that's annoying for transferring a TBytes of music ...
