I'm starting a new thread for questions or comments.  I believe we have now fixed most of the problems that created some instability.  Thanks for your patience.

Are the audio files uploaded, too?
Yes.

Is it legal?
Yes.  JRiver pays streaming fees.

What does it cost?
It's listener supported (https://jriver.com/listener.html).

Are there limits?
At this time, the limit is 2000 files.  This may change.

How can I play these files?
On the CloudPlay page, there is a play button on the right.
You can also log in from a browser by visiting https://user.jriver.com .  The play button doesn't yet work, but it will soon.  We also expect to add playback from JRiver for Android.

There are some user interface changes in MC 25.0.54 (posted near the top of this board).  The purpose of the changes is primarily to simplify the interface.

The Cloudplay entry in the tree jumps directly to the playlists.

Radio buttons are at the top of the Cloudplay page.

Play Doctor can be used with Cloudplay files.  Please see Play Doctor Meets Cloudplay (https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,120871.0.html).

You can view the playlists you have liked.  It's called "My Favorites".

You can see the number of playlists and files for each user.

Cloudplay was removed from MC's Playlists category (at the bottom).

Under MC's Playlists, there is a special group for Cloudplay Playlists.

I tried MC 25.0.54 and Play Doctor doesn't work for me now. Might have something to do with the changes that you made in the Play doctor options to "Set Rules for files that can be included". I can't figure out how to specify the rules for Genre. Is that the problem or is there some thing else?

Then set the Cloudplay percent you want.  I usually use 100% so all the tracks come from Cloudplay.

Don't change anything else until that works.  It's possible there are bugs I don't know about.

I just tested and it's working.

Once you've set the percent of Cloudplay tracks, go to Audio, select a track as your "seed", right click, then More Play Options > Play with Play Doctor and Cloudplay.

I reloaded an the earlier version then loaded version 25.0.54 again and now it's working correctly. I have no idea why my Play Doctor options looked strange before. Anyway, thanks for checking. By the way, the composer tag is still empty in my download streams, except for the tracks I uploaded. Do very few people include the composer tag in their uploads? If that's the case, please encourage people to include them. I know you want a quality product and that would help.

Is there any chance of offering an option to turn on volume leveling for Cloudplay only? I don't use leveling for play from my own library, but it would come in handy for Cloudplay.

Okay, I got zones working well. I have it switching to a zone with volume leveling enabled for Cloudplay tracks.  Unfortunately, though, there doesn't seem to be any of the audio analysis data present on the Cloudplay tracks, and everything just gets reduced by 10dB. I know the data must be present on tracks that are uploaded, but it's getting lost when those same tracks are played.

We hope to do that.  We were talking about it today.  The new version does support Radio JRiver.  Those are the four buttons at the top of Cloudplay.

Those four Cloudplay selections do appear under Streaming on my iPad but if I switch to the "This Device" zone, the selections don't play on my iPad but still play under my "Player" zone on my computer. For some reason the zone doesn't change to "My device" for those Sreaming selections. So when you up-date the JRemote ios software the Cloudplay selections should play on "My device" when that zone is selected. Hope that's clear. Thanks.

My Questions:

1.
Is the upload speed limited for CloudPlay ? to 5MBit or anything?
I actually have 40MBit upload (5.000 kB) but in practice I only get Max 5MBit (625kB) when uploading to CloudPlay.

2.
Can we get a renaming feature on the Cloud Play website?

3.
Would it be possible to add the function "Upload to Cloud" to the playlist header? (Only by right clicking on the playlist it is uncomfortable)

I previously reported in the now-closed thread about not seeing the Play or Download icons in MediaCenter 25.0.054 and several previous versions. I am on Win 10 1803. It does work correctly on another computer running all of the same software. I previously posted a screenshot of what the CloudPlay page looks like for me. I have not found any settings, either in Windows or MediaCenter that fix this, but I'm sort-of shooting in the dark. I would appreciate any feedback on what to try or what data to collect that might help you find a bug, if one exists. Meanwhile, for over a month, I have not been able to use CloudPlay in MediaCenter on my main computer :'(

Does this refer to the browser in MC? I am using the "Internet Explorer" choice. Is there a way to turn JavaScript on for the built-in browser? BTW, JavaScript is on in my Edge and Chrome browsers, I do not have IE installed.

From your screenshot, it looks like none of the font-based icons are rendering. This could be caused by a few things. One thing to check is if font downloading is disabled. To check, go to Internet Options in the Windows Control Panel. Go to the Security tab and click the button that says "Custom level...". A little less than half way down the list is the Downloads section. Make sure "Font downloading" is enabled.

Font downloading was already enabled. Do you have any other things I can try?  Thanks for your help so far. I guess my problem is fairly unique, so I understand if you can't spend too much time on it.

For IE, enable/disable JavaScript is in the same place as Font Downloading. Near the bottom of the list is the Scripting section. For JavaScript, you need to make sure Active scripting is enabled.

I'm not sure what to do since I don't have IE on this computer. Please clarify.

Even if you uninstalled IE you should still be able to access some of the Internet Options from Windows. It's in Control Panel -> Internet Options -> Security tab -> Custom level... Near the bottom of the list is the Scripting section and the first option is Active scripting. This controls JavaScript so it needs to be enabled for Cloudplay to work properly.

I Recently uploaded several Playlists and files to Cloudplay. Why am I now seeing these in "My Library"? Basically like duplicates.
Am I doing something wrong? Is there a way not to see them?

I am running 25.0.71.

They are gone now after restarting MC. I was listening to my own playlist  ;D to see if it was ok. Perhaps that's why they were there? tried clearing playing now and that didn't get rid of them. Once I restarted MC they were gone.

Running newest stable build. Just purchased JRiver. Is there a way to just browse through all playlists. I see the button to look at popular or new, but can't see a way to just cruise through them all. I assume it is right in front of me and I missed it.

Ah I see I have to browse through users to see their playlists. That works, it would be nice to see on the left an option instead
of users just all the playlists together. Also when you search a genre that it wouldn't still be based on each user but would just be
a list of playlists.

Thats just my .02, others may disagree or I just may be using it wrong. I looked at the settings like smartlist but haven't quite figured it out.

I followed this suggestion, Active Scripting was already enabled. Any other ideas?

You could try switching the engine to Chromium in Media Center (Tools -> Options -> Tree & View -> Web Browser).

Tried Chromium again (had tried previously), no change. I know there may be many settings or combinations of settings that could cause this, but can I be the only one seeing this problem? As I said previously, it works fine on my Dell laptop but not on my main Lenovo desktop. Both run the same software and, as far as I can tell, have the same OS version, MC version and system/MC settings. If I am missing all of the JavaScript icons as you suggested that seems to narrow it down quite a bit. I appreciate your help so far and hope you have not yet run out of things to try.

Try making the window wider.  If you can't, try increasing the screen resolution.  Or try changing the font size (ctrl + and ctrl -).

My window is max width. Screen resolution is max, 1920 x 1080. Font size larger or smaller makes no difference to the problem.

It is not related to certain playlist, buttons are not visible on any playlist!
no modification of screen as much as I know, resolution is standard for my monitor. OS is win 7 professional.
zooming in or out does not help.

Best thing is that when going via external browser on user.jriver.com it shows all icons as it should...interesting.

Hi, I have a small problem with the cloudplay and a Question:

Question: In version 25.0.74 (7/8/2019) is written: 6. NEW: Added a "Cloudplay" options page and it allows setting rules for file playback.
Sorry but I was not able to finde this option page.

Problem: When I play local sound files over LAN to my DAC´s everything is running fine - if I do the same with playing files from Cloudplay I get always a failure message - cannot play. Any idea why and how to sort this out.

I'll admit I have only skimmed this thread but I have a question: Is there a way to select a single track or do I have to listen through the whole playlist? Hovering over a track name just gives me a text select cursor.

Not possible until you play the playlist.

The license we have is for radio, not for "on demand music".

Well, I was finally able to replicate your font issue by changing a rather obscure Windows security setting, but I'm not sure if it's the same cause as on your computer.

Is this a corporate computer or your personal computer?  It doesn't seem like this setting would have been modified by anyone other than a very security conscious IT administrator.  The setting prevents so-called 'untrusted fonts' from being used in applications such as web browsers.  I believe that means that any font not already installed in the /Windows/Fonts directory will be blocked.  The setting is easily accessible on Pro and Enterprise versions of Windows 10 by using the Group Policy Editor.  On other Windows versions you need to modify the registry entry manually.

To do a quick check to see if this might be the problem, follow these steps:

1. Open the registry editor (regedit.exe) and go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\kernel\
2. Look for a key called "MitigationOptions"
3. If the key exists and has a value beginning with "0x1" followed by 12 digits (either ones or zeros), example: 0x1000000000000, then the "untrusted font blocking" feature is enabled.  This is not the default value, the default is to not block fonts. 

If you're comfortable editing the registry (and have permission):  To turn off the 'feature' so it won't block fonts, change the first digit to "2" instead of "1" (double click the key and edit the Value Data).  You must restart the computer before the change takes effect.

Instead of turning off the feature, you can "whitelist" certain apps like IE by following the directions on the above linked Microsoft page.

Seems unlikely that it's a case problem, but could you try renaming a few files?  Five is the minimum that will upload.

Are they ordinary, 2 channel FLAC?

This is my personal computer. Font blocking was not enabled in the registry. We might be getting close! I have attached a snip of the event viewer log, looks like a font problem. I tried adding JRWeb.exe to the registry whitelist but it didn't help - although I'm not 100% sure I got that right. I have also attached a snip of that.

Very interesting.  Did you add the "Fonts" key with value of zero?  I'm not sure what that means.  I wonder if you got rid of the "Fonts" key and added the MitigationOptions key with value 2000000000000 like discussed in the previous post.  Then restarted the computer.

Registry Hive: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
Registry Path: \SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows NT\MitigationOptions\

Value Name: MitigationOptions_FontBocking

Type: REG_SZ
Value: 1000000000000 (1 with 12 zeros)

If you have this registry entry and it's set like above, change it to 2000000000000 (2 with 12 zeros).  If you don't have the entry, don't change anything.

I get a totally blank page now when selecting "popular playlists". Was my favorite feature so far.

Favorite users still works. I think this happened after the app updated to .76 (32 bit)

Also the playlist I have saved (someones that I liked) is now empty and won't play anything.

Plus I'm not really sure what the search is supposed to do at this point. It just lists users on the left? I don't usually find the search item in their lists.

###EDIT I can save playlists when I go to the user and find them, that one was just acting weird.

I reworked my registry tweak to get it exactly like yours, but the problem persists. I also looked for the possible font blocking issue in the other registry location you pointed out, but the entry was not there. I have been enjoying several Cloudplay playlists recently via MC, since I now know that the links to play and download are there, just the icons are not visible.

I have to say once the kinks get worked out I am really digging this. Its looking like a pretty sweet library of lossless and hi-res music.

I am working from two different PC's but figured they would carry over as they all show up on both machines in my saved playlists.

How do I download them again? Only way I saw was to go back into cloudplay, but I found these lists from going through a bunch of users uploads.
I would have to dig through them all again to download. There were a couple that I had followed with the heart, I was able to easily find them and redownload.

Any reason why the redownload is necessary?

Sorry to be more specific, the error I am getting when uploading to CP is "Reason: Format flac is not using FLAC compression type." I don't understand, all of my audio files are 2ch flac files?

I ripped most of my material with EAC which also can be set to use flac to compress on the fly. Otherwise I might have ripped to wav and compressed using either flac itself or trader's little helper (using flac).

The "Compression" field on a FLAC file needs to be set to "FLAC".

Some FLAC files can have other compressions.

You might check what yours say.

How might I do this?

A lot of files have been accepted and succesfully uploaded so I need to compare these files with the ones that didn't.

In Media Center when viewing a list of audio files, you can right click on the list header row and choose the field 'Compression' from the drop down list.

Did you already try temporarily turning off any anti-virus software you have running to see if it's mistakenly blocking the fonts?  If not, probably worth a try.

In the near future, we will be updating Cloudplay with newer versions of several components, including an updated font handling piece, so with any luck this may alleviate the problem you're seeing.

I just tried shutting down all of my "protective" apps and it didn't fix the problem. I will wait and try when the updated Cloudplay is out.

I've set up an account, and signed in. I see the attached - i.e. I can see users, playlist and tracks within playlists - I just can't see any way of playing them. Apologies if I'm overlooking something obvious.
I can click on the buttons at the top - Eclectic, Classical, etc, and things play. But I can't see any way of selecting and playing tracks within playlists.

PS - perhaps we can have a rule that limits the number of 'A's at the beginning of a username??  :)

Selective track playback is not possible, since the way we license the music is on a Radio license, which lets you stream entire playlists, but not selective tracks. This is much more affordable then a license for selectively streaming individual tracks.

I've been testing that one you highlighted, "Test Audiophile hifi demonstration" and it keeps working for me.  It appears to have been updated on 7/27 by the user who uploaded it, could you try again today?  If it doesn't work, please export the playlist to an MPL file and email it to me at (johnt at jriver dot com).  To export, right-click on the playlist name and select "Export ...".

Should I be downloading these to the server or to a client? On my desktop most recently they have stuck, but here is what I am seeing on my HTPC right now. I will update them when I get a chance.

I have no problem playing a playlist. Or even downloading a playlist. It's just when I go back to my downloaded lists thats how they look.

I checked the options and there is no bitrate limit. This is happening on multiple machines.

not sure if these problem is already described here but I can play only few of all playlists. This happens also with some of my own playlists. I can play each of them after I have downloaded it, but not with the play button in cloudplay window. No bitrate limit is set.
e.g.: First playlist "20 Finest Progressive Rock " plays without any problem. Second one "All Around Joa Bonamassa & Friends Live " brings an error, in English "no track to play", see attached screenshot.
Using latest Win10 64 bit version on a notebook.

edit: checked the same on my  Intel Nuc with another installation of JRiver, and here all works fine.
So: two computer with the same Win 10 system and the same JRiver version using the same music-data on a NAS but with own database for each computer. Database is local and not on NAS.

Your screenshot appears to be Cloudplay in a browser, not in MC.  That doesn't work yet.  Use Cloudplay in MC.

No, it was not in the browser, the screenshot picture is only a part of the full screen. As written, it works for few playlists, but not for all. And problem exists only on the notebook, my main server on the NUC works correct. Changing from Chromium to Internet Explorer makes no difference.

solved by myself. I have tested a rule (on my notebook installation) for cloudplay to show only "Progressive Rock". That's the reason that all works fine on the NUK.

On three different machines my downloaded playlists are not preserved. After a day or two they are empty.

I just download the playlist HiRes 192kHz 24bit

THe program had an update I installed it, upon return the playlist was empty. I redownloaded the playlist and i t was populated. I then closed JR for two minutes, reopened it and the playlist was again empty.

What am I doing wrong?

EDIT### It appears that I may need to be downloading these from the server not a client. They seem to have carried over from the main machine. I will see if they stick around.

Hi-Just wanted to say right off what a joy it is to have discovered Cloudplay and I truly appreciate those who've uploaded this content. The sound quality is absolutely terrific and it's been a gas to discover so much new music. To be able to stream Hi-Res in this fashion was a totally unexpected perk of buying a license for MC.

I'm wondering something though: I'm having an issue with playlists loading album art and metadata: It seems that only one of my playlists, "Chick Corea", displays album art and metadata--ie, in the "Name" column of an individual song you can see the tiny album art of the song's album. Plus, you can hover the cursor on the individual song row and it will show a drop down window of the album art, song time, sample rate, etc.

I've added several playlists in addition to the above and not a single one of them have this full capability. Specifically, none of them display the tiny album art in the song row and only provide limited info in the hover-generated dropdown window--no art or sample rate.

Do all uploaded playlists have this data embedded in the files or is there a variability, day to day, as to what the Cloudplay server provides? Not a big deal as they all play fine, I'm just curious if others have experienced this.

Edit: I just restarted MC to see what would happen and my Chick Corea playlist was there in title but the songs were missing. I re-downloaded it and the songs were there but no art, etc., as problem above. Strange.

Hi-Thanks for the quick response. I tried it the play button on the Cloudplay page method and got the same result with that playlist. However, I randomly tried some other playlists (Alexbdb--"Alan Parson's Project") and it showed everything properly in both play mode and download playlist mode. Some others too. It does seem to just be playlist specific and varies from day to day, as I was able to get the proper display on elderavelas' "HDTracks Jazz" yesterday on this PC but not today.

I'm on 25.0.88.

Every playlist in user elderavelas doesn't display fully except Quarteto em Cy and Yo-Yo Ma (both of these display fully/normally).

All playlists in user atom82 display fully/normally.

It's almost as if my PC senses my favorite playlists and then start f'ing with my head!

Same thing is happening on my secondary PC--same playlists acting the same way. I even tried rolling back from 25.0.88 to 25.0.83 on the secondary and got the same thing. Didn't try rolling back on the primary as I figured I'd get same.

Both PCs are Windows 64 bit; the primary is Win8.1 Pro w/16Gb RAM and secondary Win 10 Home w/8Gb RAM.

Anyway, this is a very minor issue as it's just a display thing and everything else is A-OK. Tomorrow it'll probably be working normally again.

The Win 8.1 is a Corei7-3820 circa 2013 and the Win 10 Home is a an Apollo Lake Celeron 3450 (fanless mini-PC) circa 2017.

I'll just monitor things over the next little while and keep you posted on how things go. I'll try to see if there's some commonality between the two systems that might be a possible clue, like what the default browser is, etc. Thanks very much for your help and I have a feeling that out of the blue those metadata/album art will show up again. Fortunately there's nothing that's a real issue and I can still enjoy all of the music! Thanks again!

I just tried Chick Corea and David Grusin from Elderavelas.  They both worked.  Thumbnails start out blank but fill in within about 10 seconds.
How old is the machine?

I found a manual solution to get the full artwork/metadata: I went into a playlist download, single click on one of the files in the playlist, select Edit, Select All (will select all of the playlist songs), right click, Library Tools, select Update Library (from tags). I give it a minute or so and it downloads the artwork, Sample Rate, Bit rate, and File Type (these were blank too in these at-issue (for me) playlists.

When it's done doing its thing I get a box that says x amount of files processed successfully (0 failures) and I click OK to close it out.

There is an album or two that seem to just not have any album art but this above action will still download the the Sample Rate, Bit Rate and File Type. This action will also load this info into the files (that you took this action on) when you just go to the playlist and play a song without downloading it. Of course, you can also now hover the cursor on the song row and see the full proper info too.

Just to be on the safe side I closed the program and re-opened and everything was still there. We'll see if when I open the program tomorrow if all is still well as I've also had the issue where a downloaded playlist title will be there but the songs are gone.

I recently upgraded to MC25 and successfully signed up and connected to Cloudplay after the upgrade. So far so good.

Today I installed MC25 on a second computer inside my LAN but when I attempt to log into Cloudplay on this instance I get an "Invalid username or password" error. When I attempt a password reset via the "Forgot password" process I get an "Email not found" error. So it looks like that email address is unknown to Cloudplay.

Yet I am still able to connect to Cloudplay and play playlists on the first MC25 instance using the same email address. Can you suggest a solution?

Also, is Cloudplay supposed to work with Panel? I can see Cloudplay on Panel when I connect within my LAN but entering my email and password and clicking "sign in" results in nothing happening. When I use Panel outside my LAN I do not see Cloudplay at all.

Do all uploaded playlists have this data embedded in the files or is there a variability, day to day, as to what the Cloudplay server provides? Not a big deal as they all play fine, I'm just curious if others have experienced this.

Edit: I just restarted MC to see what would happen and my Chick Corea playlist was there in title but the songs were missing. I re-downloaded it and the songs were there but no art, etc., as problem above. Strange.

It sounds like there's some bug when using Cloudplay between client/server machines.  We'll do some testing and hopefully reproduce and fix the issue.

It looks like your Cloudplay account email ends with with 'gmail.com.au' whereas your forum email ends with 'gmail.com'.  Could that be the issue?

If you experience any more missing playlist songs, check your Cloudplay bitrate filter setting as it may be filtering out high bitrate files.  Go to Tools / Options / Cloudplay / Maximum bitrate

Check to make sure there isn't a bitrate filter setup for Cloudplay files.  Go to Tools / Options / Cloudplay / Maximum bitrate...  and make sure it's set to "No Limit" on both server and client machines.  After this, restart Media Center, delete the broken playlists and re-download them and see if this fixes the problem.

Now that all Cloudplay playlists are being imported/downloaded when you add streaming (Stations) to Theater View. Can they be sorted alphabetically as opposed to date uploaded. While not all playlists have descriptive names many do. After spending quite a bit of time this weekend scrolling through all of the playlists IMO the best way to utilize all the playlists would be if they were in alphabetical order.

Whoa! Thanks for the tip man, is this info somewhere or did you just figure that out, I agree alphabetical would make sense.

Also is it planned for us to be able to just scroll through all the playlists instead of doing so per user. Or is this already an option somehow?

For sure I don't care about the users.

My other question was in regards to the cloudplay page in normal view. There is not a way to list all the playlists that I am aware of.

The recent e-mail notification brought the existence of Cloudplay to my attention. Nice idea.

My interest was particularly piqued by the HiRes playlists. Does Cloudplay actually play HiRes bitstreams? When I click on the gear at the top of the window to check the audio path, it says that the input is CD quality, not HiRes. My HiRes tracks on my local machine play as full 192-24.

Playback will be whatever is stored on our server, but it also depends on the audio path on your machine. 

There are some limitations.  You can't currently play the files to a DLNA Renderer, for example.

I just went through my first playlist upload....and it was painless.  The only work I had was finding some lossless tracks I included that I had in MP3.  Was able to negotiate.

- Created a username "tektonik" from within JRiver
- Tried connecting using Chrome on user.jriver.com. It loads the user list then after a second, shows this:

Why is it trying to access localhost:52199 ? I can't see parameter anywhere under Tools_Options_Cloudplay.
Why is it showing the full userlist then the error message in Chrome, but it works from within JRiver?

Then I did this:
- created a playlist with 1 FLAC track
- uploaded the playlist to Cloudplay within JRiver
- got the message "Failed to upload, try again later"

Hmm. That's some pretty helpful error messaging from the coders :)

Any suggestion would be very much appreciated.

Thats helpful thanks, how about in standard view? I only use theater view in my living room, but the majority of my usage of JRiver is sitting at a desk using the standard interface.

Hi all,

Skimmed slash searched the Cloudplay Q&A threads and haven't been able to discover the answer to what seems to be a simple question. Does Cloudplay work when MC has a remote library loaded (ie, running as a client)? I'm running .113 in a mixed Linux/Windows environment, although it appears repeatable in a Linux/Linux situation as well. In short, I have not had success downloading or playing a playlist from Cloudplay when operating a client, with a few different issues.

If I press the play button corresponding to a playlist from the Cloudplay interface on the client machine, a warning pops up, "There is nothing to play."

If I download the same playlist on the client, then navigate to it in Playlists > Cloudplay Playlists, the playlist is nominally populated. But selecting a track results in a "(file not found)" in the bottom info bar area.

If I load my local library on what was the client, both of the above function as expected.

If I use Cloudplay from the server itself, the above functions as expected. However, the client cannot play the playlist even though it nominally propagates to the client thru server sync. (This last point may be inconsistent. Somehow I got an ABBA playlist to (playably) sync from server to client. I cannot repeat that success tho, so ... ABBA?)

Seems I've missed something, appreciate your thoughts.

Both sides running 25.0.113. I tried several playlists. Authentication and server sync are turned on and otherwise working as expected. What other settings might be implicated?  Other than "Upload to Cloud", are there features that need to be turned on?

I'm installing a fresh copy of .113 on an extra Linux laptop to give it another test/more playlists.

[ETA] Fresh install didn't result in anything different -- playlists still not working. Further, it appears the ABBA playlist that was working properly yesterday no longer plays on either the client or the server.

Tried a few other things. Basically, Cloudplay does not work for me on any device involving my MC server.

If you are unable to get Cloudplay working without using a client/server architecture, then something may be blocking access.  Firewall or antivirus.

It is the opposite, Cloudplay only works if I'm *not* using a client/server setup. If connected to my server, my client says there's no file to play when I click on a playlist in the Cloudplay interface.

Given the above, I don't she how the issue could be a firewall or antivirus issue (but the wiki doesn't contain information about how Cloudplay is implemented, so I guess I can't be sure).

I don't see any meaningful (to this issue) settings in Tools > Options > Cloudplay.

I'm not sure I follow. The server is just a server, there is no audio device attached to it. I'm trying to play Cloudplay files thru the DAC/amp attached to the client.

That hasn't been my experience. My server also runs on a server, so every instance of JRiver I use is a client, and the only library I have is the server library. I even use cloudplay from work on a laptop remotely connecting to my server.

The only time it made me load a local library was when I wanted to upload a playlist.


EDIT## Still hoping for an option to browse all playlists. Seems like a basic thing to offer.

Also any word on multi channel audio? Are these being held over for v26?

I recently upgraded from MC23 to MC25 to try cloudplay. Registration to cloudplay worked and I was able to upload a playlist. I am able to play a playlist from cloudplay in MC25, but the playback is constantly interrupted (roughly each 15 sec) when "buffering" is shown. When the next part of a song is downloaded it plays again for 5-10 sec and this happens even for CD quality content (rates at 700kbps). The same problem exists for Radio JRiver. When doing playback via e.g. radio paradise in flac mode there is no problem at all (similar rate at about 900kbps). My internet connection shall anyhow be fast enough with 60/12 Mbps (down/upload). I run MC25 on a windows 10 with the firewall and security suite being disabled. I read through the cloudplay threads, but it seems that nobody else has had similar problems. I changed also the MC25 webbrowser setting, but both, Internet Explorer and Chromium, engines have the same problem. I installed MC25 also on a second windows 10 machine, but it has the same problem. Is there any setting that I need to change or is there any problem with my cloudplay account?

I switched everything off and on again, but the problem is still the same. I am using MC quite a long time and I like it a lot. Normally I use a WASAPI or ASIO driver towards an USB DAC, but the problem exists also when using the laptops speakers.

I am using the latest version (25.0.113). I de-installed my security suite as some background services could not be stopped and deactivated windows defender firewall, but still the same problem for both, cloudplay and Radio JRiver. Windows 10 has also the latest updates sucessfully installed. I do not remember if I deinstalled MC23 with registry clean-up or not, but since I have the same problem on two different computers, this shall not be the cause as the other one didn't have MC23 installed. What setting or program can cause this slow connection to the amazon cloud for cloudplay or can it be related to my account?

It's apparently not the server, but it could be related to your ISP's routing to it.  Did you power your cable modem (or equivalent) off and back on?

What country?

Please describe the two machines.

I am in Germany. I powered off/on the modem/router again. I applied the instructions for the windows defender exclusions (I put all of them). I tried Radio JRiver classical station, but the "buffering" problem is still the same. I did never use any registry cleaners, but shall I install MC23 again and then deinstall it with removing registry entries to be sure?

Eclectic had some hesitations
I'm playing a playlist now by Funkateer called Funky 45s ...   At first, it had a lot of hesitations, but now it's smooth.

This could just be an Internet problem right now.  Keep trying.  It may clear up.  I don't think it's a JRiver problem.

And the idea with a search feature here, isn't that to be able to search for music/genres? A username isn't that useful...

I recently upgraded to the new MC from MC24. I have been using the cloudplay effectively on my windows 10 PC and my android device, but I can not get it to work on my windows 7 PC. Every time I try to log in it kicks me back to the original screen that has the sign in/sign up, continue and listener supported selections to choose from. Continue just kicks me over to the sign in screen, where I enter my info just to get kicked back to the previous screen. I can get it to work in firefox on my windows 7 just not MC25. I have tried the recently released 25.0.114 and it did not work so I tried installing 25.0.113 again to see if it fixed it but it did not. I am not sure if this an issue in my settings or if it is an issue with MC25 on windows 7 but any help would be appreciated.

In Cloudplay I can only play JRiver Radio (4Buttons Eclectioc Classical Jazz Rock TryMe) but if I choose a title from a uploaded title I get message „please login“.  After login in  I get only the message „seite wird geladen  (this means page is loading)“
what do i wrong?

You cannot play a single track direct in cloud play window. You have to click the play button to get the whole playlist. After that you can play each track you want in your playing now window.

Sorry for the delay in responce, I have been busy this week.

I have tried both I only but mostly the email that begins with mon. Neither work.

No the windows 7 computer does not restrict the running of javascript.

I just tried switching the browser to chrome but it did not seem to change anything with cloudplay.

I uploaded HD tracks from another computer and tried to listened to them in another computer. When I play these files, it says "Tracks were filtered based on your settings"

How can I modify the settings so that I would be able to play those HD tracks.

Try the option for "forgot password".  It's built on the same framework we used for earlier projects.  You must have signed up for one.

Once again nevermind, just used forum password with my email and I am now signed into cloudplay and its working great.

Very nice addition to JRiver ( I upgraded from mc23, no cloudplay).

Now I just need to figure out how to get some of my tunes into the mix, lol.

It's just been a rough week for me (computing wise), thanks for your patience in answering all these questions, you shall be rewarded in the next life greatly, lol.

The playlists should be mixed, not the same artist or album or it's not covered by our license.

So having said that, if i join, am i allowed to listen to other peoples playlists and the radio without uploading my small amount of music?

Yes. Playing playlists in Cloudplay or Radio JRiver does not require uploading anything.

This really looks interesting and exciting but I really can't figure out how to register / log in. Tried to use my forum username (but different pw) to register and says it says the username is already in use. Ok. Tried to register with a different username but says email already in use. Tried to sign in using my forum username and password and says invalid username and/or password.

What is the right combination?

You may have registered earlier, when it was used differently.  Try sending youself your password from the bottom of the signin page.

If I add / change songs in a playlist can I re-upload it?

Will it:

1. Upload only added songs?

2. Try to re-upload the entire playlist? or

3. refuse to upload the playlist because it already exists?

It will upload the entire playlist and replace the old one.  It will ask you to verify before doing it.

It will not re-upload files you have not listened to since you uploaded the previous playlist.  But, it will upload those that you have listened to since the previous upload.  Hope that's not confusing. 

I do wish it would ignore the "last played" and "times played" fields, but it doesn't.

Ok so that's really annoying.  I added songs to a playlist and then re-uploaded it.  It erased what was there and only added the new tracks that I added.  This is a very poor design and I hope it get's fixed soon.  I don't want to create a new playlist with a different name every time I add tracks to it.  Please fix it so that it adds the changed songs to the existing playlist rather than what it does now which is just silly.  I also don't think we should have to eat up bandwidth and time by erasing and re-uploading an entire playlist because we want to add a few songs to it.

It should reload the playlist, adjusting it to whatever songs you either deleted or added and in the order you have it now.  In other words, it should duplicate the playlist as it is on your computer at the time you upload.  If you just add them at the end, it will do the same.  It will be an exact duplicate to your playlist when done.  Check the site's playlist and compare it to yours.  Is there a difference?

Original playlist had about 400 or so songs.  I added about 85 songs to the playlist and then re-uploaded it.  I received the warning that it would overwrite the existing playlist which was fine.  but afterwards the CloudPlay playlist only contained 85 files instead of the new 485 files.

I subsequently deleted the CloudPlay list and then re-uploaded it again at which time it contained the 485 tracks.

I’m so pumped. Love Cloudplay. Ability to PlayDoctor and mix and match other's music with mine; all lossless. I signed up to contribute. Confirmed via payment provider. Also successfully uploaded a playlist.
If only I could use it all. Would appreciate help:
Right now all I can play are the 6 playlist buttons: Eclectic, Classical; Jazz;Rock; Prog; Try Me.
When I click on a playlist on the left, nothing happens.
Clicking on gear icon upper right: nothing happens
Menu icon to its left: nothing happens.
Tools -> Options -> no cloudplay options

I notice that there are now many 'single artist' and 'complete CD' album uploads appearing contrary to the guidelines. These seem to be 96/192 FLAC versions of complete albums (probably downloaded from Tidal or Qobuz by the looks of the files). I understand that the uploads should be mixes and not complete albums by a single artist - is this still true?

I ask as it raises a question of legality if I download those album playlists and play them from my machine, am I breaking any rules on usage or copyright?

I'm still on MC25. I can't get Cloudplay to work. I can see the playlist. I click on the play button. The playlist songs load in my player, but the music doesn't play. Do I take it I will need to upgrade?

Correction: My MC version is 26. Running on Id Debian. I understand that Cloudplay is listener supported. I think I made a contribution recently and saw no results. Again MC plays all files in my library but Cloudplay playlists show music, load into the player but I get a vague error message "something went wrong with your playback". Do I need to contribute? I welcome help.

I'm running the latest version of JRiver, and can't play or download playlists either.
