Title: Importing Files to Media Center
Post by: Skeezix on January 07, 2020, 01:21:46 pm
I don't import files very often, but whenever I do I always have this problem:

After I click Tools > Import > Import a single folder >Next, I browse to the folder that contains the files I want to import, click Audio, and finally click Finish.

Every time MC's Import Summary reads "Imported 0 new files."

And if I then search in MC's Name field I cannot find the files I want to import.

What am I doing wrong?

They've probably been imported.

Select Audio in the tree, then search for them by name.

It's also possible you deleted them once.  The import has an option for this.

Not sure what you mean by "Select Audio in tree", but I did select Audio in the leftmost pane of MC.

I just noticed a "Search" box at the upper right corner of MC and when I click inside that box and choose "Imported this week", the file that I previously imported is listed.

Unfortunately when I go back and look in MC's main window, the file is not listed (I have sorted the files by Name). And the file is still in the folder that I imported.

What to do next?

Find the file in Explorer, if necessary.  Tag it.  The tags are probably missing or incorrect.

I am downloading files into "D:\MP3 Files\1Agent Downloads" and trying to import them from that folder. Is there something in this version of MC that precludes downloading from a folder that doesn't start with a letter from A to Z?
