Title: Linked Tracks support under JRemote?
Post by: OverTheEdge on June 26, 2020, 07:59:04 pm
Has there been any discussion around having Linked Tracks supported using JRemote? I didn't find any such conversations in searching the forum - which surprised me. I'm finding myself listening to my music more and more via my iPhone (primarily) or an iPad. It would be great to have Linked Tracks work.

I have mentioned this issue several times but, so far, have been ignored. I don’t understand why fixing this would be such a bug problem.

If I had to guess, it's probably not a simple or easy thing to implement/support - it actually doesn't sound easy to implement to me. Assuming it's even on the to-do list at all (which it may not be), it's also possible it's a low priority. There's other things in the iOS version of JRemote that are of a higher priority like fixing the known outstanding issues.

Clearly, I don't understand how JRemote works. I had imagined that shuffling was done by the server and that the result would be pushed to the Remote. If that were the case there wouldn't be an issue because on the iMac, the "linked shuffle" works like a charm. So it seems JRemote is doing something different.
Also, is this not a known outstanding issue?
