Since some time (a month or so), the option System info.. does not complete and results in the program being blocked and a forced quit is necessary.

I've tested this on both of my Mac MC installations and I don't get any hangs. My latest version on Mac is 28.0.105 .
I did experience a pause on one of my MC installations doing "system info". I think it was waiting for my music drive to spin up. Maybe you have some references to music on drives that are no longer connected to your system? Or a NAS that is down, or something else similar? Just guessing.

There is a drive speed test in there which IMO shouldn't be run every time so I think Brian is on the right track.
