Title: Perform a more through but slower scan...
Post by: DocLotus on March 08, 2022, 11:40:03 am
There is a check box at the bottom of "Scan for new channels" with that command in it.

What exactly does it mean  ?
When should I consider using it  ?

No, unless you believe regular scan does not pick up all channels you expected.  There is actually no guarantee that slower scan will pick up more channels.  Think of it as a last ditch effort.

Ah ::) THAT explains a lot.

I have run it many, many times but seldom (if ever) see any real difference with or without it. It has been bugging me for a long time & you just cleared the "fog" away.

I have noticed over the years that almost all other TV programs do a much faster Channel scan than MC & they seem to seldom have any problems picking up all the channels.

There has been a few times when running it the scan would freeze part way through but would not freeze when scanning without it. I don't think it is anything you need to look at as it seems to be a very seldom used command & the freeze is even less seldom encountered.

Thanks Yaobing.
