Title: Search for exact phrase in JRemote
Post by: dmitch77 on March 11, 2022, 10:57:47 am
I'm a bit baffled by the global search in Remote. I want to find all versions of the song "All Blues". I type in that name into the global search field, and I get hundreds of hits - whether I look at "grouped" or "flat" results. Basically, anything with the word "all" or the word "blues" in either the song title or the album name comes up.

If I search for "All Blues" (without the quotes) in MC, I get the option to filter by name - right at the top of the search list. That's what I want, so I click that and get a half-dozen songs called "All Blues".

Is there a way to do that specific kind of search in JRemote? The MC search language ([name]="All Blues") doesn't work on JRemote. It seems like there must be away to do this - search by a specific string, like you'd specify "All Blues" (with the quotes) in Google - but I can't find a way.

I know one way, which is to make a playlist of every song, and use the local search on that playlist. But it takes many seconds to load that playlist since it has 17000+ tunes. Not optimal.

Any ideas? Thanks.

The search in MO 4Media works great and will do what you want.
