There are few things about windows apps I dislike more than blocking features in apps. I am sure I have my JRiver configured to update library in background. But it still blocks.
Note the hourglass does not show when making screen shots in windows.
-
Import is fully threaded.
-
Thank you for the reply! I wonder why it blocks when I select a new folder to "watch"? JRiver becomes unresponsive showing the dialogue in my screen schot and the hourglass for about 5 minutes.
Maybe it is because these folders are on a large, slow, drive...
-
That's likely your antivirus checking the files before allowing access. You need to exclude media files and/or MC's application folders.
You can find detailed info on how to configure windows defender somewhere in this forum.
-
thank you, will give it a try and report back here.

What version are you running?
A freeze (aka block) that existed for many years associated with importing some video types was fixed in 27.0.61.

version is 28. there might be some video in the folders but 99% of the files are audio. it is a multi terabyte and relatively slow drive...

29.0.28? 29 is the version. 28 is the build. Using 29.0.28 is the most clear.
-
hmm, here is what help shows
-
That's version 28, build 106.
This is the MC29 board.
-
Yeah, I posted here because I was trying to ask if MC 29 would exhibit the same behavior as MC28 in regards to the behavior I am seeing in MC28.
I think my OP was not very clear, for which I profusely apologize.
