Title: Syncing with Mac
Post by: al1947 on May 03, 2022, 02:19:16 pm
Apparently the DAP OS world has spoken and the answer is Android. Even super high end DAPs such as Sony's "Signature" Walkmans are abandoning Sony's proprietary OSs in favor of Android. Which leaves Mac users screwed.

The old Sony OS was fully compatible with MacOS -- and thus synched via MC/Mac just like it does in Windows. Now, with Android DAPs, they are not. Windows only. Available tools such as Android File Transfer are awkward and don't work with JRiver.

I have tried many apps that claim to mount Android DAPs as external drives, but so far haven't found anything that's reliable or easy to use. So far, the only solution that has worked for me is to go to the expense of obtaining virtual machine software and then installing a Windows machine. Then, I can access my Android DAP via MC/Win.

Has to be a better solution than that. Anyone know of one?
