Title: Feature request - Auto-create playlist
Post by: TheShoe on June 20, 2022, 04:07:58 pm
This may exist - so please excuse me if so and explain how,  but….

I often put together “playlists” on the fly and I’d love a feature to click a button to “create playlist from current list”.  Simply let me enter a title for it, and then save it.

I have a feeling this may exist, but I am doing this from JRemote, not Media Center directly.  Perhaps this needs to be moved there, but…. exists?  cool idea?

Cheers

Select the items, right click and choose Send to...

There's a Playlist option there

I could be wrong, but I don't believe this can be done from JRemote... or any MC remote that I've tried.

There is a save playlist option in Jremote2 in the playing now view but it doesn't seem to do anything as far as I can tell

Yes, I also just found the "save playlist" option in JRemote2.  Doesn't do anything for me either.  Maybe an intended feature that was never completed?  I use Mo4media and it turns out that player has this feature!  I didn't know it was there, but I will sure use it.  Long press the playing now screen.... and you have the option to add playing now tracks to any existing playlist... or create new one.  It appears you can do the same thing while searching.

Sorry, I missed the JRemote requirement!
However, there is a JRemote playlist creation option. It has in the past, both worked and not worked; I don't know what the situation is currently.

Playlist management is not implemented in JRemote2, but as far as I can tell it should work in JRemote iOS
Feel free to bump that feature in the JRemote2 thread so its on our list to finish for the next push there.

So while I can create a “now playing list” in JRemote (iOS), and can add individual tracks to a playlist, what I want is an option to “add all” to a new playlist.

it’s tedious to add each individually, and if i swipe too much, the track is removed from the now playing list…

so feature request still stands in JRemote (iOS).  JRemote2 is not an option for me - we’re an iOS family.
