Title: Export Library Data?
Post by: johnkaess on October 27, 2022, 12:36:51 pm
I'd very much like to export my MC Library into a file which i can use to make a spreadsheet. Ideally, i'd like to select the fields to export. I don't want lyrics, just data fields that i can use to sort and and manipulate with each track in a single row and the data fields in columns. I guess some type of .csv file would be nice, but i'd need the data header to be included so i know what data i'm manipulating. Being able to select the fields included would be a huge plus. I can work in Excel and/or Numbers. I'm a finance guy so i'm pretty good with numerical manipulation in spreadsheets, but i'm not very good with data file manipulation as in Access, etc.

This may look like a stupid question, but I've tried exporting playlists as csv which doesn't give me everything, I've tried exporting the library as xml which gives my big glops of data not arranged into columns as far as i can tell. I'd appreciate any suggestions by someone who has actually done this.

I have more than 22,000 tracks in my library.

Thanks.
