Could we have the recording options and DVD controls in Theater Mode in a more obvious place than in Playing Now/Display Options/... ?
And/Or have MC Commands for these actions

Tools menu is still slow. Can take seconds before drop down. Same with right-clicking in media tree. Second right-click on same position goes much faster.

Theatre View
When playing a video, there is no way to pause the video. Clicking the play button in Playing Now restarts the video from the beginning, then pauses it. And using control-P has the same affect. If I switch to Full Screen view though, all works as it should. Also work fine in Standard view. There needs to be a way to pause and unpause video in Theatre view.

Hmmm. Still Waiting for iPod.
Hopefully it won't be like Waiting for Godot. ;D

Hmmm. Still Waiting for iPod.
It should be in tomorrow's build.

I think I woke up long enough to find out that Godot never did show up.

Whenever I select music or images to play I get the following message:
The selected File is not in Playing Now. It cannot be played this way!

Whenever I select music or images to play I get the following message:

Make sure you don't have a search like ~a entered into Playing Now. (which lists files not really in Playing Now)
-
When uploading tracks to the Nomad Jukebox 3, After xx amount of files (not really sure how many) it slows down.
In the start it uploads 1 track every second or so, After 600 it uploads 1 track in about 10 seconds and keeps getting slower.
-
The Horizontal Scrollbar on the TreeView Pane is missing...
-
Media Server STILL does not show cover art on the "Track Info" page of the "Playing Now" window. Cover art shows up fine in the AW, and in 3D visualizations -- just not in "Track Info" screen, which is the one I use.
This problem has persisted since early MC 9.1 builds.

This version is not working at all!!!!
Whenever I select music or images to play I get the following message:
The selected File is not in Playing Now. It cannot be played this way!
Just so everyone knows that this is not everyone, I am not experiencing this problem. Also, the Tools menu on my system is completely responsive, so no real problems here thus far. Love the new names, a lot more ... refined. I must admit, I was always a tiny-bit embarrassed to go into "mini-me" mode, all-in-all just to much Austin (and I won't even talk about MEGA-me).
One question ... All of my files that MC accesses live on another Windows box that acts exclusively as a file server (it has a RAID 5 system -- can't afford to lose that stuff). With the RAID, its plenty fast enough and the network card in it is decent (3com) etc. Even so, updating the ID3 tags in my files is painfully slow. Due to this, I have to turn off "Update Tags when Info Changes" in the prefrences. This is really no big deal, except that MC then doesn't let you use the "Update files (from Library) function. This is irritating to have to go into the options and temporarily turn this option back on and then back off. Why can't MC update the tags when I tell it to, on the files I tell it to, without this option turned on? It just doesn't seem to make sense to not have both options ...
In fact, it would be even better to have a small little external program (maybe even a command line only auto-exiting option for MC) that simply updates the files (perhaps remembering which ones are updated, or at least starting with the most recently files added ones first) and exits. This way, as long as you gave us /START, /PAUSE, and /STOP versions, I could schedule it to run whenever I want in windows.
That said, I never cease to be amazed with the work you all do on this program ... Ever minor beta keeps getting better and better. Thank you.

Don't look now Jim, but there is an eight-legged furry creature on your shoulder!
By crikey! I had the MC XMLexport plugin thingy installed. I uninstalled it, and hey presto-bongo, now I can shuffle windows as per usual.
Thanks Jim!
I too get the "The selected File is not in Playing Now. It cannot be played this way!" message when attempting to play stuff using right-click-PLAY menu.

Edit the main.xml file for the skin. It's in the JRiver program folder under Full Skins\Glass. Keep a copy first in case you mess up. Look for the internal margin settings in the List (for the list on the right) or the Buttons section (for the buttons on the left). Make the margins smaller and the text will automatically increase in size to fill the space.

I've noticed that this is a common suggestion...sometimes it seems to fix the problem (as it did in this case). Has something significant changed in the way plugins interact? If so, are the plugin developers being made aware of these changes? I, for one, rely on several plugins. They fill in some of the gaps in MC's usablilty (the PlayingNow plugin, for example). Disabling them might be a workaround, but I'd rather they work with MC.
Here's to hoping the plugin issues are being handled... :)
--Thomas
I've got MC XML Export running right now and I can still have windows on top of MC (for example, this page). This behaviour in MC (always being on top) has been happening pretty randomly throughout all the builds I've used, since 9.0.something.
Also, I'm really not liking the .../3:05 display. The countdown to the next song was great. Displaying the "..." just makes MC look like it's hung.
Any idea when improvements in the SDK will be implemented?
Scott.

Changing the skin in Theatre Mode doesn't take effect until after you close and re-open Theatre Mode (much better name).
Right clicking on an area in the Action Window that shouldn't bring up a context menu (such as the root nodes) brings up a context menu with an inactive "n/a". Why? Just ignore the right-click if it doesn't do anything.
Scott.

It still does on my computer. Right-Clicking on a file and choosing "Play" also brings up the dialog that says it can't play because it is not in Playing Now.

Uploading 50 mp3 files to a USB connected memory card ( L: ) with bitrate conversion and volume leveling using the AW, I see the "Handheld Progress" AW showing
"Uploading: Ronettes / Is The .....
File 40 of 20 100%"
Very clever to have uploaded 40 files out of 20 , a total is wrong here

An idea for Theater View:
I like how it gives four album covers for an artist/genre with a lot of discs in it.
However, the first albums on any genre are the compilations, and some of my compilations have different track for different genres. Therefore, most of my genres have the same album covers representing it.
How about a random 4 album covers?
If not, I won't be disappointed.... I don't even use Theater mode yet.
Also: In Theater mode, Audio -> Playing Now -> Display Options is not showing the display options buttons. I think the last build it was, tho.

When sending an "assorted" artists album to a portable who's file system is laid out in Genre\Artist\Album it doesn't preserve the Artist\Album structure. The files end up on the portable in individual artist folders instead of the Assorted folder as it was ripped.
In Addition, if you use the "Rename Files From Propeties" tool and you have the option to use "assorted" for multi artist albums checked, it doesn't use the assorted folder.

I can confirm this. It happens because conversion takes place 10 tracks at a time. It is getting confused with the number of total files to upload vs how many it actually has in the queue.

Hi Matt,
not only the "Select Files, right-click, Play does not work", but the "Media Import" of images using MPL Playlists does not work either. It imports the playlist, but not the files. This is the same whether I try from Windows EXplorer or from within MC.
The only way I can play files is by selecting and then pressing the Play button at the top!
There is nothing wrong with any left over searches! Just by reinstalling my older version, 10.0.050, both functions work again flawlessly.
Reinstalling 10.0.053 and both functions stop working! Now, it's your turn!

I don't seem to be able to bring any other window in front of MC in this build.
Having this same problem and yeah, I do have plugins installed but I never had it with any build before this.
Also, the plugins aren't ones that would set MC to stay in front. As far as I remember as well, we cant control from the SDK whether MC stays in front or not.
-
I don't seem to be able to bring any other window in front of MC in this build.
That's odd, as with this build I now have correct window order for the first time in many many months with MC. It always wanted to be on top.
-
In the Download Manager, even though Disable Browser Integration is selected in Settings, it reintegrates itself into IEs right-click menu every time I install a new version of MC. I have to start and exit the DM to get it to go away.
