Title: Convert DVD-A to audio flac
Post by: huber13 on August 17, 2012, 11:18:05 am
I have a few DVD-A discs that I would like to rip to my MC player at the higher bit rates under audio not video. Any ideas on how to do this. I'm one of those that want to select what songs I want so I don't want to rip the whole DVD-A. I've been playing around with this and can't find where the media converter is. Do I do this B4 I rip or after?  ? I'm really lost here, I know there's a way, call me "stoop idd" but I can't seem to do it.

You need to use DVD-Audio Explorer (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DVD-Audio_Explorer) or DVD Audio Extractor (http://www.dvdae.com/).

Then you'll probably have to disable Gatekeeper: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gatekeeper_(OS_X) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gatekeeper_(OS_X))

First, you need a player inside your PC or MAC which plays dvd-audio or you need
to download the ISO's of your purchased DVD-A. If the record company allows this and has it, some do.
Or use an old Playstation 3, the version that still played dvd-a discs, this is what I used to rip my dvd-a.
Then I installed the trial version of DVD Audio Extractor, it works fully, I used it to select
what I wanted and converted these to multichannel FLACs.
After the trial period I purchased a license, as the program works great (but is a bit slow).
