Title: Volume Control via hardware keys
Post by: Dr Tone on August 28, 2014, 06:05:24 pm
Is there any way we can get MC to understand fine volume adjustment on OSX?  Currently hardware keys results in a 5% change in volume, which goes from too quiet to hurting my ears with some current highly compressed music.

Using the Shift Option modifer causes OSX to do finer adjustment of volume, it would be nice if MC did the same.

We will do this when we have time.  Please bump your post from time to time.

For the time being you may be able to create keyboard shortcuts to send a command to MC.
I have not used a Mac in YEARS but in windows a person can create a shortcut to MC19.exe with the required
parameters to adjust volume.
Windows examples:
volume up (10018)
target = c:\Windows\System32\MC19.exe /MCC 10018,1 (the 1 at the end determines the increase)
volume down (10019)
target = c:\Windows\System32\MC19.exe /MCC 10019,1

I have several shortcuts I have created that I use.

Ok, that's about the Windows version.
But how does it work on the Mac?
