Search for "Let's Encrypt". It's free, and I used it to automate certificate renewals for dozens of machines and web sites when I was a professional IT guy.

Thanks,

Tried your smartlist code suggestion and it worked.  However, for label, after choosing "is An" for Artist, did not give me another is Any choice.  However, for the "is" choice, I was able to check the two labels of interest.  All works well.  Thanks.

Thanks for your response bucky63. I had tried this previously and it does keep the system from crashing. Unfortunately, it still sends a 5.1 signal to my receiver, so I cannot apply any processing modes in the receiver like various surround formats -- DTS neural, Dolby surround, etc.

I always tell MC to "Take no action" upon inserting a new disc. When there are entries for the title in the database, the next screen you see allows you to look at the entries that are available. When the entries aren't quite right, I will pick the one that is closest and manually edit the data BEFORE I tell MC to rip it. In this way, I make sure the metadata is correct going in, so there is no reason to interrupt a rip, and no reason to delete after the fact.

One option is to try and change the Channels in DSP Studio Output Format to 5.1 Channels, Check the box "For Stereo Sources, only mix to 2.1" and Select the "Silent" pulldown in the Subwoofer section.  This will always feed 5.1 to your receiver for both 5.1 and stereo sources eliminating the format change that might be hanging your system up.

I was looking to see if there was a way to automate the installation of certificates and their renewal on a windows installation.  I noticed there were some discussions back in 2021 about a command line to do this.  Is there now a way to do automated install and renewal of certificates?

JRiver 32 crashes when I play a 5.1 recording and switch to a stereo recording. The problem occurs when I use the source number of channels but not when I set the output to 5.1. It occurs with WASAPI but not Direct Sound. I am feeding the computer's HDMI output to a current-model Pioneer Elite receiver, which in turn feeds a Sony TV. I have two HDMI monitors, but the problem persisted when the other one was disconnected.

If I stop the 5.1 recording first, it's no problem; the stereo will then play. I have tried various things, like changing prebuffering and memory playback, sample rate output, to no avail. I followed the protocol to make sure Windows Defender was not the issue.

I have deleted and reinstalled JRiver several times. I am now using 32.0.28, 64-bit.

I attached a log file. I am not very computer savvy, so please be patient.  Operating system is Windows 11.

Try a different USB port.

What type of files?  Does it matter?

Why not create a normal playlist and just drag&drop the files/albums you want?

For a Smartlist, just add those items as rules, selecting all the values you want:
Album Artist      is        Simon Rattle
Artist            is Any    Berlin Philharmonic, Berlin Philharmoniker, Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra
Label             is Any    Warner Classics, EMI Classics

Then add a Sort order, perhaps by Album > Disc# > Track#

Hi everyone,

Can someone explain what the benefit of using FLAC files with 32-bit audio this new feature has?  I have seen some references to using 32-bit files when ripping vinyl rips.  Will it benefit file conversions of DSD to FLAC?  I converted my DSD files to FLAC for convenience.  Should I reconvert my DSD files to 32-bit FLAC files using FLAC 1.4.0 or higher?
