Why are the older versions available for download then?

Let me also ask then-- I have two licensed versions on one computer, 17 & 19, and another licensed version on a second computer, 18. So 3 purchases. I'm building a new media server and will want to move at least one of those versions over to the new server, and may have to do a few installs during the build as I set up hardware and other software. How do I move a licensed version from one computer to another?

Here's how you can restore your MC19 license:

Jaybe,

The subtext of what Jim has said here is this:  A license of MC entitles you to install the program on as many computers are YOU personally OWN within reason. So a single license would be good (for example) for your home PC, your home theater PC, your office PC, and maybe your laptop.  As long as those are all computers you own and use.

But one has to wonder in your case:  Why wouldn't you buy a license of MC21 if you wanted a new license?  I guess it really doesn't matter if all you're doing is "moving" from one PC to another.

Thank you Brian.

I'm happy with the older version I've been using and prefer to stick with it. Changes through 21 don't add any thing I need.

Anyway, didn't realize I could install on a few computers. In this case I'm giving up a laptop as a server and replacing it with a new dedicated music server. I'll just install what's on the laptop onto the new server.

Thanks again.
