The Force Awakens
« on: January 28, 2016, 08:41:26 am »

Finally went to the latest star wars last night.  4 weeks after the premier, on a wednesday and not in IMAX or 3d pretty much meant that chewing my popcorn was disruptive to the other 5 patrons in the theater.  Anyways, I just have one comment.  A well modulated deep voice alone does not a dark Lord of the Sith make. This Darth Vader analogue... More like Darth Ross from Friends.

I don't think he was intended to be a Vader analogue. I think he was supposed to be a (somewhat sad) Vader wannabe, and I think they kinda nailed that.

The actor is actually quite good in Girls (a show I otherwise have fairly mixed feelings on, but he is good).

The movie reprises so many aspects of the franchise.

The term "analogue" makes a lot of sense in various ways.
