DirectShow post processing?
« on: February 24, 2016, 03:36:50 pm »

Is it possible to apply a DirectShow filter to a video?

I assumed that selecting tools\options\video\videomode\advanced\custom would provide me with a way to apply a post processing filter to the chain?

However, my Leadtools filters don't show on the configuration page.

Did I misunderstand this feature?

We have a white list of choices we'll show.  I'm guessing that filter isn't in the white list.

We could add it if we knew the GUID, but I'm not sure how to get that.

The clsid of the LeadTools video stabilizer is E2B7DDDE-38C5-11D5-91F6-00104BDB8FF9

But I'm curious, why do you need a whitelist for post processing. Isn't that just a major limitation on your system considering how many DS filters exist?

We don't need the CLSID, but we choose to only allow whitelisted filters for stability reasons. There is a lot of broken things in DirectShow.

Ok, so applying a Stabilization DS filter is a no go then.
