Id with Engen
If you've been reading the
JRiver Smart Theater board, you know that we've been working on an IoT (Internet of Things) project. If not, you can read about
Engen and OneRemote there.
Today, Bob folded Gene's work on Engen into a special update for the
Id. If it holds up in use for the beta group, we'll release it soon.
It adds the new Engen server to the Id so, you can use a Z-Stick to control your Z-Wave devices.
The Id is a natural choice to host Engen since it uses only 10 watts of power.
I updated my Id tonight. The update went smoothly and I can control my lights with it. Pretty neat!
Next week, I hope we'll be able to add remote setup to the Id. Most of the settings will be available to a web page that OneRemote can find automatically. You won't need to know the IP address of the Id.
