Unable to parse file error - change in behavior
« on: July 06, 2016, 10:21:48 am »

I helped a friend yesterday solve a problem where his client wouldn't play certain video files from the server.  Almost all live TV wouldn't work, and most TS files as well.  It turned out that it was actually 5.1 audio not being able to be played on his TV.

It used to be that when you tried to play a format that was not playable, you would get a nice error message that would offer to change the output to something that was playable (IE: 6 channel audio to 2 channel).  In his case, it was just a generic error msg that said something about being unable to parse the file.

Is this a change in behavior?  Or am I not remembering correctly on how MC used to behave?
