I am looking for ways to extract audio (FLAC) from MKV files. I own a large collection of Music Videos (on blu ray and DVD). The Convert Format option of JRIver has many options but not one converting MKV to FLAC audio. Any suggestions?

P.S. I own DVDAE and used it in the past but found is very user unfriendly and the disc needs to be unlocked first.

After you select a video and choose "convert format", you'll get a little dialog box at the lower left.  You can choose formats there.  There's a check box there that I never noticed until someone pointed it out:  convert video to audio.  Check that box and all of the conversion selections will change.  Now you can select FLAC.

Depending on your MKV files, you might need to use Particles to create a JRiver database entry for each song. The wiki has information on how to do this. Chapterfy makes the process extremely simple and quick.

Edit:  I just realized I posted in the Mac forum. I think Chapterfy is only for Windows.
