Album date question
«
on:
February 06, 2017, 08:06:59 pm »
If I rip a compilation album with tracks produced in different years, I may get "unknown year" for the actual album. How do I tag the date of the album itself and still keep all the the album tracks with the correct, different dates?

1. you should not get "unknown" year if all the tracks are tagged with different dates, you will get [varies]
2. i use [date (release)] for the album release, and [date] for track release in your situation

I do this too. Does anyone have any tips/sources/methods for updating the [date] field for individual tracks in my collection? The accuracy of 'date' track tagging is poor at best (or just set to [date (release)]) I'd like to improve this but don't want to invest the rest of my life tagging files manually
I was planning to start to investigate some of the 'automated' user supplied scripts for MP3Tag but haven't got around to it yet.
