Problem with DTS-HD MA playback
« on: March 02, 2017, 03:22:12 am »

Hi, I have a PC (Windows 10, 64 bit) connected to a Denon Receiver through HDMI. Windows lists the receiver as one of the output devices in sound options, and I use it with MC 20 for playback of all kinds of audio formats, even multi channel (5.1) PCM. However, when I try to play a ripped Blu-Ray on my PC with DTS-HD Master audio, depending on the audio settings either there is an error message that this format is not supported by my device (although the Denon receiver can and does decode DTS-HD Master from other sources) or the audio is transmitted as ordinary DTS (not DTS-HD MA). I tried all the settings, bitstreaming and non bitstreaming etc., but I couldn't get it working.

The problem seems to be that the HDMI on my graphics card is not capable of transmitting DTS-HD Master (this format is not shown in the sound device options). I did some search in this forum and found the advice to let MC do the decoding of DTS-HD MA and pass the sound as multi-channel PCM to the receiver. It seems that I need a dll called dtsdecoderdll.dll and possibly two other dll-Files in order to do this:

I found these dll-files, but even after putting them into the SysWOW64 directory (and into some other others directories as well) I can't find any option in the MC 20 settings to decode the DTS-HD MA audio and pass it as multi-channel PCM to the Denon receiver. Can anyone give me a hint how to do this?
