Hi, I'm using JRiver to connect over DLNA to to the Roku's native DLNA player. This used to work extremely well for me, but sometime over the last 6 months or so a change to either JRiver or Roku has made this unusable. Basically, most every time I try to play a piece of music I get a "unsupported audio format" message. If I keep trying to play the music eventually it will play and when it does it plays perfectly all the way though the end, but when the next piece of music starts I run into the same problem again. I always transmit .WAV files. I'm able to to use the native DLNA server in my Oppo 105D in the same system and that works perfectly. However, the Oppo DLNA server is incredibly primitive and not usable in the long run. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try setting the MC server to always convert audio to L16 no header..

EDIT: and you could try downloading the DMRA from my sig, and posting the renderer report here..

L16 no header did not help the issue.
I tried running the DRMA that you provided, however, it only found the OPPO renderer, it did not find "Media Player" on the Roku.

That already is a strong indication that you have a routing or firewall problem. Which would probably also explain the errors you reported in your OP.

Not a firewall issue as I turned off the firewall and still have the same problem. Also the renderer analyzer still can't find the Roku media player when the firewall is turned off.

I don't see how it could be a routing issue. There is only 1 network in my house and everything is dynamically bound correctly. Everything else on the my Roku works exactly as expected except the Media Player needing multiple attempts to play back wave files. I checked my routers setting and everything seems fine. I guess is could be an issue with the router, but I've gotten this issue on 2 different routers so seems somewhat unlikely.

In the DMRA did you try checking/unchecking the box "Use Windows Discovery" ??

I don't think the Roku Player announces itself as a dlna renderer. JRiver can't find it either, as it's not showing up as a place I can send files, however, the oppo does show up.

Erm. If it does not show up as a renderer, then how come you even have the problem that you say you have?

If I go to the Roku channel for the Media Player, it is able to find and use the JRiver Media Center (except for recently this problem of initial playback). JRiver, as far as I know, has never been able to find the Roku Media Player channel except when contact is initiated by the Roku.

So you are using the Roku to pull tracks from MC? Rather than pushing them from MC to the Roku?

Ok. What is the media format of the tracks on MC for which you get this error?

I almost exclusively play WAV files ripped directly from DC. I have 2 DLNA servers set up, one plays music back unchanged and the other upconverts to 24 bit. Both servers experience this issue.

The error message that you see - is it being displayed on the Roku, or is it MC displaying the message?
