Bulk Copy / Move with library tools
« on: September 26, 2017, 03:27:51 pm »

I have a large collection (90,000?) of audio files.  They are in various file name formats, audio formats and there are duplicates.  I want to bring them all into a single directory / subdirectories location with consistent naming and clean up them more after that.
I understand the library functions copy / or move can do this for me.

But, is there a way to select all of the files, or at least distinct batch to make this operation smoother and less tedious?
Thank you in advance.

Selection works for multiple files. Shift click and control click work.

What you probably want is the Rename, Move, and Copy Files tool:

Probably should understand how to use Views to find a group of files, or restrict which files are displayed.

I can never find one good Wiki article that explains "Standard View" Views, but;
https://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Media_Views
https://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/Standard_Media_Views
https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php?topic=68960.0

More searching would find more/better examples.

Then know that Ctrl+A select all files in the View, and once selected, those files can be processed with the Rename, Move, and Copy Files tool.

So, thank you.  The Ctrl-A feature for select all files showing is what I was looking for.  I am sure that the "select buffer" will not accept 90,000 entries, so using the view feature to shorten the list with some sort of logic that limits duplicates should work.  Thank YOU!
