Rebooting issues on NUC5CPYH models
« on: December 07, 2017, 09:50:25 am »

ONLY if you are having issues with hangs on rebooting with NUC5CPYH Id's you can try updating the bios and settings.

Here is the link to the latest bios which we've tested.
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/downloads/eula/27146/BIOS-Update-PYBSWCEL-86A-?httpDown=https%3A%2F%2Fdownloadmirror.intel.com%2F27146%2Feng%2FPY0064.bio

Write it to a USB stick on a PC, put the stick in and boot with a monitor attached. You can choose F7 while booting to get to the bios update screen or F2 to go to the bios setup then click on the wrench in the upper right part of the screen and do bios update from there.

Don't choose to check online for a bios update, that doesn't work.
Choose a the usb key from the menu and you'll probably have to check the + mark to expand the usb key display depending on how you formatted it.
Click on the bios PY0064.bio and follow the prompt.

The NUC will reboot and install the new bios.

After it finishes, reboot back into the bios setup with F2.

You will need to hit F9 to reload the default settings then make the following changes:
under Boot/Boot Configuration:
Change the OS type to linux
Uncheck optical boot
Disable network boot

Under security:
Disable the intel platform trust technology

Under Power/Secondary Power Settings:
Set "after power failure" to last state
PCIe ASPM Support - disable.

F10 to save settings and exit.
