Entire ablum has ends of songs cut off.
« on: June 20, 2003, 09:58:56 pm »

I just noticed that all the songs on the Squirrel Nut Zipper's "Perennial Favorites" ablum have the ends cut off when played on the iPod.  This album was ripped in MC9 with the default MP3 encoder using CBR.  When played off of the computer via MC9, they sound fine, but when synched to the iPod and played, they all cut to silence a couple seconds early.  I haven't noticed this on any other album yet.  I have noticed a 'similar' problem with VBR encodes, but not with CBR encodes.

It may be significant to note that on the iPod, the songs end before the counter is at the end of the song.  In other words, the iPod seems to be playing to the end of the mp3, but it just outputs silence for the last few seconds.

I have the new firmware (2.0.1) installed.

Thanks for any help with this -- it may take several days for me to post back, but I'll definitely follow up on this in a week or so,

Larry
