Help - How to convert file to 16/44.1
« on: January 26, 2018, 08:42:48 pm »

Anyone can help with the external encoder so that I could convert files to 1141 bitrate using uncompressed wave. Usually, it is not a problem where even DSD files could be converted to 1141 bitrate using uncompressed with 16 bit. However, I am unable to convert AIFF files that used sampling rate of 48000hz. I still get same bitrate with the WAVE conversion using JRiver.

It is such an hassle to convert track by  track using Audacity. It can be easily addressed by JRiver  if they add one more option to select the sampling rate.

Thank you.

In the file conversion options enable DSP. Open up DSP Settings and enable Output Format. Right-click the sample rate and set all to 44,100Hz.
I would recommend also enabling SoX resampling in the regular Media Center options, as well as setting the dither mode to TPDF. (tip: you can search in the options window)

Thank you so much. Managed to convert all files. I am unable to use  SoX due CPU already running at 75% to process convolution for 216 channels  ;D. Even one mistake of playing file at 48kHz pushes the CPU to max out.

Once again, thank you so much.

Glad to help.
One thing though: while your CPU may not be able to handle real-time playback using SoX, it should work just fine for file conversions.

I have not experimented much with SoX. After spending much time and money on DSD, SACD and hires I am okay with 16/44.1 so stopped with that. Will give it a try with my next downsample as some files did show up little bit of clippings.

Thanks again
