PLEASE give us Year/Date back for Smartlists Rules
« on: June 12, 2003, 04:46:43 pm »

Please, please, please...most of my Smartlists had a 'Year' rule included, and they're all toast now.
I know whine, whine, whine...
Otherwise, MC9 just gets better and better - the new library is cool (although the decades don't work of course - unless I'm really missing something).

You can still use Year in your smartlists. You just need to change the fild name from [Year] to [Date (year)] and all will work okay, it just doesn't appear in the wizard.

My 'Year' shows in the column named 'Date.' When I do a smartlist and type in Date it says 'no files selected.' In the Wizard I see under Advanced>Keyword, all sorts of selections --- but if I choose Date (or any of them for that matter) I immediately get 'no files selected.' Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Yeah...it has to be enclosed in square brackets.  Type it exactly like this [DATE (year)]  Then it will work.

Got it! Can't thank you enough. I probably should have been able to figure it out myself, but I appreciate you taking the time to 'splain' it to me.

Can you not add a keyword of YEAR to the "DATE (year)" field ?
