Stereo amp with DLNA renderer
« on: March 01, 2018, 07:13:24 am »

Hi All, Well my amplifier finally died and now I am in the market for a new one. I'm in the UK. What I really need is a stereo amp with two speaker outputs (A inside + B patio outside), digital fiber input and the ability for MC to stream to it (DLNA renderer).
Anyone know of such a beast.

Currently I have a laptop under the TV which acts as an MC client but I would like to get rid of this.

Any ideas welcome.

I stumbled into the Yamaha MusicCast receivers for this purpose and have found them to be such a great system I ended up replacing all of my receivers with Yamaha MusicCast receivers (also upgrading to HDMI 2.2 capability for most).

What I like most about MusicCast is the fact that from a single app on your Android (or IOS) device you can turn on the amplified, select the music source (including from MC or various streaming services), control the volume and playback and select what you want to play.

I can use MC to set up whatever DLNA menu scheme I want and the MusicCast app navigates it competently.
