I just started using Media Center 24 and am having problems dragging files into Media Center from iTunes. I've been doing this for years when I DJ - Playing out via Media Center; using Itunes to catalog and pre-listen.

What has been happening is that the tracks do not drop in where I put them. Usually I am adding tracks to a playlist that is already playing. A number of times when I tried to add a track to a playlist (that was playing) Media Center would jump and start playing the track I was trying to drop into the playlist.

I went back and installed Media Center 23 to check and see if the problem was my mouse or computer or something else, but everything works fine in MC23.

You could use two different zones to preview and play.  Toggle between them with ctrl-t.
