I have a view sorted by Name. It should start with Albeniz, but instead starts with Bach because this album has an apparently indestructible space at the start of the album name.

Of course I've tried editing the tags, deleting and reentering the Album name and other tag values, but I can't get rid of this space.

Any ideas? (screenshot attached)

You should be able to edit the album tag no problem.  What if you just try to put a single letter in?  Use the Tag Action Window.

I tried changing Album to "z" but it still appears first in sort order because of a space coming from god knows where. (screenshot attached)

Is the library database corrupt?

I see the issue.

You're grouping by:
[Composer, 1] [Album, 1]

The composer is empty for your Bach stuff, so it outputs empty, space, then the album.  That shows as " Album Name".

You either need to make the expression a little more clever so it only outputs a space if the composer is not empty, or you need to fill the composer names in.
