Volume Leveling with Vinyl
« on: October 02, 2018, 04:13:26 am »

I wonder if I should disable volume leveleing (the R128 algorythm) when I listen Vynil after A/D conversion in ASIO Loopback mode.
As far I can understand the expected answer is YES, but I ask just in case

thanks much

Volume leveling doesn't work with live playback anyway, since it relies on pre-analyzing the files - which you can obviously not do with Live playback.
So basically, it should automatically be off (or adjust it by a fixed -1 dB to avoid inter-sample clipping).

If I leave it on during Vinyl playback the level is AUDIBLY rather lower (cannot say how much but more than 1 dB)

Any changes are always documented in the Audio Path, you can see what happens, if anything.
