Change Volume Behaviour (volume wheel control)
« on: November 11, 2018, 08:34:07 am »

I´m pretty happy with MediaCenter so far. 1 day in the 30 days testing period. Save to say I´m probably gonna buy it, if nothing unexpected happens. But the one thing that annoys me a bit is that the audio control is global. Meaning it does not matter what window is in focus. When I use the audio wheel on my keyboard jriver catches it over windows. Meaning I cannot turn down my system volume anymore with my volume wheel whenever jriver is open. Only controlling internal jriver volume no matter what i´m doing.

I´d like jriver to only take the volume control input when i have the program in focus.

Click on the speaker icon in the upper left corner and try Internal volume.

Removed old post as what i tried didn´t help at all.

The problem is that jriver takes over the volume wheel hotkey over all over programs, including windows itselve. I already have it set to internal. Same behaviour. Just changes what volume i can change.

Made a tiny video demostrating that.

I didn´t find a way to make hotkeys not global yet.

Search MC settings for Media Keys.

There i can disable them. But then they are completely gone and I can´t use the volume wheel anymore when jriver is in focus for use in jriver.

Guess my initial thought that i´m gonna have to edit xml´s is right then?

https://wiki.jriver.com/index.php/User_Defined_Global_Keyboard_Shortcuts

Except I do not want them to be global (for the most part).

It states "These shortcuts can be made global" but what makes them global isn´t really explained unless I´m missing something.
