Channel 5 in the UK
« on: January 03, 2019, 11:17:38 am »

Hi all,
This isn't specifically MC related, but is anyone else having trouble scanning for channel 5 (and associated channels) in the UK?

I exported this list (https://en.kingofsat.net/freqs.php?&pos=28.2E&standard=All&ordre=freq&filtre=Clear&aff=list) and parsed the details in to a new XML file to select when scanning (as the ones included in JR are the older Astra Satellites), but it's not finding Channel 5.

I've even used DVBDream and done a manual scan, but it isn't finding any in that range
I created an .xml just for that range

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<SatTransponders version="1.0">
<Transponder Frequency="10964000" Polarisation="H" SymbolRate="22000" Modulation="QPSK" InnerFecRate="5_6" Pilot="NotSet" Rolloff="NotSet"/>
</SatTransponders>

But it isn't picking anything up.
When plugged in to my Sky box, I get channel 5 ok.

I have a TBS6909 card (8 tuners with 4 inputs) and have 2 cables currently connected.
I've tried on Tuner 0-3, but nothing is being found.

I know the levels and quality are only at 60% - could this be why?

Any advice appreciated!

Signal strength/quality is a suspect.  However channel scanning usually is more likely to succeed than actual tuning when signal is weak.  I am not able to see anything else unusual about this particular group of channels from the web site you linked.
