Idpi as server and renderer simultaneously?
« on: January 11, 2019, 04:26:21 pm »

I use my Idpi as a server taking files from a separately-powered hdd and delivering them to my Wyred4Sound dac vis spdif coax.  I do have trouble getting it to use the streaming options. I connect usually with JRemote, occasionally with Panel.

I have Media Centre 24 on my Windows 10 pc, too. Is it possible to set the idpi as a renderer in a separate zone from the Windows version, so I can serve streaming options from my pc and get the idpi to play them to the dac?

As I see it, on MC on the pi under options I would need to tick both boxes, renderer and server, but would this cause confusion? Or would I need to change the selection on the occasions I want to stream from Windows and revert when playing from my hdd?

Thanks for any advice you can give me.

You're on the right track.  It should work.  The DLNA topic on the wiki might help.
