I am looking to play my MC32 Audio files in my Motorhome while traveling and read that JRiver for Android app will show up as an icon on my MH's screen when I plug into Android Auto feature.

So I downloaded the app and the it asked me to input the server key on my laptop along with user id & password.

Pretty easy to gain access to my library. I could see all my playlists including streaming from RP & Cloudplay. I played to the laptop for these stations, but when I tried to play any of my audio, i got silence.

Now my files all sit on a NAS within a wifi network in my home and when I eventually take off in the MH, these audio files will be on a USB drive attached to my laptop which will be on a mobile router which my android will have access to.

Now I currently use the Gizmo app to control MC in my home and I know I could use Gizmo in the MH, but I can only play through Bluetooth to the Audio head unit AND I wouldn't have access to Cloudplay nor be able to control from the head unit.

Do I need to import my library into my phone in order to play music files that are sitting in my NAS/USB storage???

What is the best remote to use in this situation?

JRiver for Android?  Or JRemote2?

Any remote should be able to play files locally when connected to the MC server.  But you have to tell the remote where to play.

Gizmo and JRemote2 have similar functionality.

Hi Jim,

I installed JRiver for Android at Playstore. I thought this was the proper app to play via Android Auto. (though I have not tried it in the car yet since I want to get it working inside the home first.)

OK.  That runs on Android Auto or on an Android phone.

OK I was able to figure out how to play my media files as well as streaming on both zones. One is my phone which obviously will work when plugged into my car for android auto and zone2 is my laptop.

I do like the application of JRiver for Android over Gizmo in that it allows me to stream music. However, I have not been able to get JRiver 4 Android to be able to control the volume when playing to my laptop. I have tried all the different volume settings in MC, but nothing seems to work. Any suggestions?
