Dune HD Audio Duo HD DLNA Renderer
« on: May 21, 2019, 12:19:31 pm »

Hello,

I recently bought a Dune HD Audio Duo 4K and use it almost exclusively to play multichannel DSD files.  I loaded my multichannel files on a hard drive on the Duo So far so good, but I would like to set the device in MC24 as a DLNA Renderer.  The little information I found on this player mentions that it is Upnp and DLNA Compliant.  Unfortunately, I was not able to set up the device  using the same procedure as I used to set up my Oppo Player. MC24 sees the drive but not the device.  A si anyone been able to get any Dune HD media player to work as a DLNA renderer in JRiver Mc.   Thanks in advance!

Try downloading the DMRA from my sig, and see if it can find your device. And if so please post the renderer report.

Thanks AndrewFG for your reply.  I downloaded and ran DMRA as One of the first steps (forgot to mention this in my initial post).  The Duo 4K did not show up unfortunately.  I also ran a similar test within Foobar2000 and it did not show either.  Not sure at this point if the Dune HD product has DLNA or Upnp rendering capability after all.

Is there a way to determine if a media player has DLNA rendering abilities?

Alternativ l’y, would be possible install a Linux version of JRiver MC24 on a Dune HD machine?

If neither MC, nor Foobar, nor the DMRA can see the Dune as a renderer then it is quite likely that it is indeed not a renderer ;)

However before you give up on it, you should try a couple of things. First check if you have any firewall or antivirus software on your PC that may be blocking incoming HTTP communication from your device. Secondly check if the Dune is using an IP address that is on the same subnet as the PC, and as your router; (generally it’s best if PC and renderer are both set to get their IP addresses from the router via DHCP). And thirdly check if your router or WiFi access point is blocking UDP multicast traffic.

If it isn't a DLNA Renderer, they would be up for false advertising.
