Jerky screen movement when I grab and drag MC27 on screen
« on: October 30, 2020, 05:50:43 pm »

I haven't seen anyone else mention this so I'm wondering if I have some setting wrong.

When I grab and drag MC 27 around my screen (I have both 27.0.15 and the Beta 27.0.27 installed, and this happens in both), it is a VERY jerky screen movement. More so than any other app on my iMac. Similar to slow video rendering, or any weird graphics/video that one might see if you didn’t have enough RAM, or had a slow video card. But this is a brand new iMac (less than 2 months old) with an AMD Radeon Pro 5500 XT 8 GB card, and 40 GB of normal RAM. So it ain't that. I do a lot of work on Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop and never have rendering or other slow graphics issues, and never have video issues in Youtube, QuickTime or any other video apps.

Thanks to any assistance in advance.

I think a lot of Mac users, including myself, are seeing this. What's even more frustrating for me is the jerky scrolling through a track list.

To be fair, I have discussed this issue with some devs here and they are looking into it. Lacking any understanding of the code, I believe it is much more difficult than one should expect to get this fixed. I am still hopeful. They are a small company and it may be a while. On the flip side, look at what they have achieved.

It's a known issue but it's not one that's easy to fix and will take time.
